Around 100 individual walks a week with the municipal shelter, a volunteer base of 30+ people and 7 dogs adopted by Amparo members.

2025 in numbers
- 627 members in the community
- 462 people from 34 nationalities used our coworking spaces
- Over 80 people helped to obtain proof of residence and a NIF
- Over 30 members have bought property and made Madeira their main home

What that looks like week to week
Weekly hikes
8 to 25 people exploring Madeira's levadas together, in collaboration with the Ponta do Sol community.
Fitness & running club
Three fitness classes a week in São Roque plus a running club, averaging 10 and 6 people per session.
Community dinners & socials
Weekly dinners and meetups of 9 to 15 people, hosted in local businesses to keep spend in Machico.
Beach & levada cleanups
Four beach cleanups in 2025 with 15 to 20 volunteers each, alongside ECOS, Trashcatch and Trash Traveller.
Giving back
Collections for the children's home in Machico, Christmas gifts for 13 children at Aconchego, and support for Associação Fachos.
Madeira Impact Collective 2025
A six-month pilot co-creation programme supporting community-led regenerative solutions. From 53 applications we selected 13 changemakers from Madeira, France, Germany, the UK and Venezuela. Our launch event with Startup Madeira, ARDITI and ACIF drew 158 registrations, and workshops averaged 4.6 out of 5.
